~doggy grasA Poem by Katherine Wyattcomedy
So here we are ..
Carnival season has come round again Balls and
beautiful dresses, king cake and masks advertisements for people to ride on floats, Or walk
alongside Chewbacchus… My love and I
were looking forward to Krewe of Barkus
We will dress in velvet skirts, purple,
gold and green hoping for
parking spaces, as parades serpentine crawling through the streets while friends with tickets and invitations to parties
and parades, and balls…. are
diligently solicited and highly sought
We shall carry our dachshund in a feather boa blue eye shadow
and sparkly stuff along a long dachshund spine deep blue matches dachshund eyes, purple
sparkles for his nose
He whispered
that he promises to be magical along with all
the sparkle and lights of Carnival In dogspeak he promised, in a low voice,
"I will become a glowing jellyfish coach with golden
wheels whisking you
away to the parades and balls and KingCake meals" but he
stipulated,,,,
at midnight
he would turn into a purple and gold pumpkin Leaving me in awe at the prospect of doggy gras even a
dachshund is a mystery during the season of Carnival…
