The seeking

The seeking

A Poem by V

An eternal search, for the reincarnation of you

Every woman’s unborn child, each breath of fresh air

All the unmet friends, they could be, but are they, you?

My teacher and friend, to where, did you disappear?

I’ve let the dogs out, they are sniffing everywhere.

Hoping to find your scent, the smell of you, somewhere

Sometimes, I see a face, in a crowd, on a lonely street

Through a window – I see and it makes me feel

Passion, or spontaneous attraction, a connection too strong

The eyes that look so deeply, to touch my very soul

Is he you, who has returned?

Your heart was precious, like gold

Your blood was angry and red

I saw it dripping, slowly

The calm was fear

The pain was near

Life times later, I search for you

Longing to be close again

Our souls the same, our bodies so different

Don’t let me pass you by, on streets of loneliness…

When our eyes meet, give me the sign

Let us death defeat

I know you are here, My friend

Don’t ignore the truth, We belong

So my eternal search

Goes on and on.

This gave me chills and it's going to haunt me.

"Every woman's unborn child, each breath of fresh air
All the unmet friends, they could be, but are they, you? "

I am forever seeing my daughter that passed away.

This is an amazing piece.

Wow. Some things just get better over time, like fine wine - and that it is how you write dearest. I loved this line:
'Every woman's unborn child, each breath of fresh air'. Simply stunning.

Absolutely stunning work. I love this. The searching for a past-life love in this life....heart-wrenching, devoted, faithful, brave.
Brilliant.
Write on!
