Divine

Divine

A Poem by RileyLynn J
"

An introduction to the story I;m working on, and an almost prophetic nursery rhyme.

"

“Lillian, Lillian,
Child of mine,
The lightening bugs
Think you are divine.

Down by the creek.
Water and moss.
Just make sure
You do not cross.

The woods on the
Other side, you see,
Are filled with dark purple
And forest green.

There are monsters there
That your young mind
Could not conjure and
Should not find.

I think that you shall
Heed my warning "
But if not, then
Night and morning,

Lightening bugs will
Lead the way
Until you are back "
That will be the day.

Lillian, Lillian,
Child of mine,
The lightening bugs
Think you are divine.”

Author's Note

RileyLynn J
This is sung in a repetitive rhythm, with similar notes. It's almost haunting, though to naive ears it would be comforting. Sort of keep that in mind when reading.
