This is a dream!
Wake me up!
This is a nightmare
Pinch me now
I don't want to be here
Not any more
There used to be peace
And now it's war
They say when it rains it pours
I say when it hurts it kills
I live in a lie
This is a nightmare
Wake me up!
Tears are constant
And the pain is unreal
How did I get here
It doesn't feel real
How do I wake up
From the nightmare of my life
Somebody pinch me!
Or I know I will die
This was fierce and real. These are the emotions that go through our soul during these times... doubt and depression. Lines like "How did I get here - It doesn't feel real" really hit home, because of how surreal life can become.
Impressive piece! Will be back for more.

Ha ha wow it's been a while since anybody reviews this one. Appreciate your input very much.
I really like this poem! I think everyone can relate, in some way, to your words here, and the title is simplistic enough to both descibe the idea and draw in an audience.
"There used to be peace
And now it's war
They say when it rains it pours
I say when it hurts it kills"
I've always thought reality, ugly, crude, mundane, painful, heart-broken reality, is highly overrated. That's what the good Lord invented creative writing for :)
Like any natural poet, you channel the voice of many who cannot find as easily the words that you provide to articulate how they feel. You've crystallized a state of pain that is all too easily relate-able.
