FIGHTING WITH THE MIRROR

FIGHTING WITH THE MIRROR

A Poem by EMMIE

SELF
FIGHTING WITH THE MIRROR
AND THE MIRROR FIGHTS BACK
SELF
THIS IMAGE IN THE MIRROR
IT LOOKS WHACK
SELF
I AM FIGHTING WITH HER
CONFIDENCE WE LACK
SELF
MIRRORS SHOW THE TRUTH
AND I DON'T LIKE THE FACT
SELF
I SEE IMPERFECTIONS IN HER
TOO MANY TO KEEP TRACK
SELF
AND SHE IS NOT ATTRACTIVE
FAT FRONT FLAT BACK
SELF
A REFLECTION OF UGLY
SKIN WITH CRACKS
SELF
THE MIRROR IS MY ENEMY
AND HATRED IS OUR BATTLEFIELD
BUT AS I HATE I SELF DESTRUCT
I FIGHT WITH THE MIRROR
CONFIDENCE I LACK
SELF

the mirror reflects back all the images we carry on what angles we perceive as beautiful or unattractive; we are walking mirrors when we just touch the surfaces of appearances...

Hahahaha, fat front, flat back. Do you
realize how many women would like to
look like you ? Probably thousands.
I could go on, but you know the truth.
Your readers know----- You are beautiful.
