PersevereA Poem by RayneI’m tearing in two; Being pulled To and fro, Up and down, ‘Round about, In a circle of unending thoughts And emotions Of what to do’s and Rights and wrongs; Red Flags, cease your incessant wave! For once, I’ve no wish To see or hear your Admonitions as your toll Resonates against my very core. I wish to throw my head back In perfect abandon and just jump; To feel free from your ever cautious Grasp over me. It’s inflexible, Tenacious, Obstinate possession, Is unwarranted At this precise moment. Delectable, Ambrosial, Spicily exquisite; Roll off my tongue to Preach of adventures and A wildness I crave to Taste, Feel, Smell And hear. The titillation spontaneity holds Plays an overwhelming tug of war Of my disposition Character And morale; So release me… Please! Just this once, and Let me fly free.
