Broken Dawn

Broken Dawn

A Poem by Rayne

I sat;

With the tides

of tomorrow and yesterday

lapping  softly

against my feet.

Sunset to my back,

narrowing my view

through a single window pane.

I watched;

destruction

we've caused for ourselves,

pawned off for

our children to fix

the wrongs we've caused.

A burden to carry,

for those unable to fend for themselves,

surrounded in a

technology thriving century.

Sorrow I feel;

No solutions met just yet

with the wars

and lack of monatary values.

Number 1 being,

what can I buy next?

Fix it!

Don't leave it for another

when YOU

have been the ones to

create this broken dawn.

Stop bending

that which our

Grandfathers of years gone

penned in the beginning.

They had morals and values;

Did you notice…

Yours were squandered

when bankrolls were

bequeathed to you.

A pathetic evasion to

Keeping  your hands

perfectly unsoiled.

how very true!! your voice speaks much wisdom! and is something I too write about - the state we have left our earth in for others! they'll reap the consequences, and perhaps already are with the way the world is at the moment! very nice poem!!
