Epicure

Epicure

A Poem by Rayne
"

This was a challenge to write something about whatever it was that this specific picture envoked. Given by SacredSong's Space...a 360 friend.

 ~ Epicure ~

Caustic cloves

Pierce my heart

Marinating it

With a pungent

Over spiced aroma

As if to remind one

Of a bouquet of autumn

Given on our day of Thanks

Oranges mixed with

Senescent spiced rum

To culminate the perfect

Palatableness

A confined, precise prick

Noticed with the delay in time

Carefully planned out

The distance between each

A road map to somewhere perchance?

The red irritated swelling emerges

Dulling the sweet tang stench

That mixes with the sense of

Taste

My heart has become the

Hors d’oeuvres,

A tiny mouthful to

Savor and relish upon

The suggestion of

True delicacy

This palate

You made

A soft ensemble

Of taste buds

Jolting to attention

As do fine hairs stand

Sensing

The presence of another

Bon appétit!
