Fade

Sometimes the light can't reach you

I stare at the sky above,

the image blurring as I watch

I do not know what happened

One moment the world was set,

the next it was spinning out of control

Glimpses of color flash through my mind

Loud noises permeated the air,

but now it is silent

The ground seems to sway beneath me,

and my world has shrunk to the sky

Suddenly bright flashes blind me,

and people are yelling all around me

But it all seems so distant,

like hearing something through a long tunnel

Blurry pictures of people,

interrupt the calming sky

By body is lifted into the air,

but I barely feel it

My sight blackens at the corners,

as I am set back down on a bed

At first I can still feel the softness of the bed,

but then my body seems to go numb

People rush around me,

their faces and features melding together

Everything darkens,

like curtains closing on a stage

Sound turns into a deafening silence,

but even that feeling starts to fade

I do not know what happened,

I don't even remember what I had been doing

My memories fade with my darkening sight,

as I fade into the shadows of darkness

This makes me recall a few panic attacks I had in my earlier days - your words almost describe the feeling I had but this sounds worse - more like death
