Magic Knight

Magic Knight

A Poem by buterfligirl

There is a story

Told long ago

Of a special knight

Who owned magical armor

That could protect him from any wound

This knight was the best in the land

Not a person could defeat him

So with pride

He took down his foes

Never losing even a single battle

But this knight

Soon became overwhelmed in pride

He began to believe he could do anything

Since no one could stand up to him

And so he did whatever he wanted

If he wanted something

He had to be given it for free

Though he had plenty of money

It felt good to have so much power

Even the king did not have as much as him

Then one day a woman came

Dressed in colorful flowing fabrics

She approached the knight

And said to him

“My what beautiful armor”

The proud knight smiled at the compliment

“Oh thank you, my lovely lady.”

The woman stroked the man's armor

“Why, might I be able to have it?

What I wouldn't give to obtain it”

But the knight was not so easily fooled

“I shall never give it nor sell it

This armor is magical

The only one of its kind

It protects me from any and all harm”

But the woman shook her head

“Why that armor is not magic

It is just plain armor

If you want real magic

Then take a look at this..."

The woman held out her arm

Fabrics like her own were draped on it

“I don't see how that is magic”

The knight said dismissively

But the woman wasn't done

“If you don't believe

That my fabric is truly magical

Then why don't you try it on

You can keep your armor close to you

I promise not to touch it.”

The prideful knight

Who wanted to prove his armor was better

Stripped his armor off piece by piece

And put on the fabrics

But he didn't feel anything special

“Why this fabric isn't magical”

But as the knight said this, scowling

The woman jumped towards him

And without his armor to protect him

He was stabbed through the heart

Long long ago

A story was told

Of a special knight

Who owned a set of magical armor

That could protect him from all harm

And this armor

Made him invincible

A truly unbeatable foe

But from this protection

Came a powerful pride

Then came a woman

Who used his pride

To make him remove all of his armor

And so she was able to kill him

The prideful magic knight

Little Adam and Eve with a twist. Why is a woman always the one to lead a man down the wrong path. I guess we are all weak. Very nice story that I Liked a great deal. Well written and good imagination. Thanks,
