SunriseA Poem by buterfligirlYou never know what you have until it's gone.I watch as the sun
dips down into the horizon As the sky is splashed
with slowly darkening colors I observe as the day
turns into twilight Twilight into night The stars twinkle
softly But my attention is
elsewhere I turn to face the
opposite horizon where the sun will once again rise I wait for hours Finally the time comes But the sun doesn't
appear Even the shine of the
stars start to disappear Leaving only the darkness Where is the sun? Why won't it rise? I stare for hours But no hint of it is
shown The sky starts to
blacken Leaving me in complete
darkness Where is the sun? I get up I walk towards the horizon Even though I know
that it's impossible The sun is gone My light has
disappeared for good There is nothing left
for me in this dying world Still I can't help but
hope Perhaps the sun will
come It has to But still the darkness
deepens Like a cut through my
heart I stand at the edge of
the world But still The sun doesn't rise © 2015 buterfligirl |
