C is for CrushedA Poem by DavidThis poem is about a childhood attraction and the kid ends up worse off. Note: this poem is false, and comes from the depths of my imagination-sometimes a curse, other times a blessing.C is for Crushed I may be a child, in the heart, as well as in the mind, but I gave you everything I had, my heart and soul, and so much more than you think. The flowers I left you, wilted and died, like our love; the diamond necklace, shattered to a thousand parts. I would blow you a kiss from the distant, but you turned away every time, leaving me alone with a broken heart, I stopped loving you after a while, and then you noticed me, when not in the center of things anymore. You began to send me letters, which were torn in half immediately, the phone would ring of the hook, the message count growing fast, I would erase every one. We both would cry at night, at different ends of the world, knowing our faults, and dying because of them; now I stand at your grave, remembering the good times and bad, never having you to hold. Once you were here to be cherished, now six feet below and cold, seeing only the dark linings of your coffin, and I am crushed, knowing I will wander the earth, never to live or love again. © 2008 David |
