Alone

Alone

A Poem by David

Alone

By myself again,

no one here,

the rooms all dark,

candlelit hallways,

leading to emptyness.

A smile spreads across a face,

mine radiant with nothing,

an eery grin it is,

lingering in the back,

prodding me to evil.

I wil not,

cannot do it,

force myself upon this throne,

entities dancing,

in total control and I turn away.

I saw a light,

bright as day,

the day I haven't seen in so long,

turning my body warm,

A faint pressure on my heart to signify,

greatness,

a challenge so perfetly overcome,

an it is all gone.

I am returned to my shallow haven,

nothing to do,

but its okay now,

I am loved by the dead,

they surround me from aweful threats,

all the while I sit here,

a smile and a tear,

alone again,

but soon to be gone forever.

Leaves me feeling isolated, great diction and imagery. Really like this one.
