Country sports watching

a different way of what I think about the nations crises at hand.

 

I sit on my couch,

hand full with bloody popcorn,

on the big screen,

I can see the nation.

Congress like the patriots and redskins,

are good at what they do,

going back and forth,

through many quarters,

still no score.

Sitting in the stands,

point for china, korea, and iraq,

u.s. nation, half a point for trying.

In the end zone, with a sudden KO punch,

U.S. one,

we could win the superbowl by next century.

I really like the idea of this poem, and the metaphor you're using. It's really cool. The only thing that threw me off was the bloody popcorn - it's a cool image for sure, but I may be missing something because I'm not seeing it fitting.
