Humanoid

Humanoid

A Poem by Ruminating Archaeologist
"

partly inspired by a converation I had with my best friend Savanna, about how she would rather be an alien than a human.

"
distant galaxies
what do you see in the mirror?
is it just me, or is it
a fantasy?
picking up pieces;
reworking
the designs into patterns.
we are formulated beings
with mind and muscle matters.
we are syncopated heart beats
and memory-fluid particles.
two arms, two legs, a head-
humanoid aliens.
capable of more or less
it seems to me we're all the same.
plastic faces, melting in the heat
of global warming rays.
separate light beams and
reflect me back into the universe:
I might have discovered it first.
