Serenade

Serenade

A Poem by Ruminating Archaeologist
"

another morbid sort of piece. but whatever, I like it. idea is sort of interesting. yet confusing but that doesn't matter. it's poetry. has a music/archery/death sort of thing going on.

"

"Good luck,"

She whispers.

I press

my lips

to her forehead

before leaving.

Splatter.

On to the ground.

Drops.

With an arrow

sticking out of my chest

you hold me.

You hold me down

with an arrow

sticking out of my chest.

As I rise my bow,

you raise your own.

As I tap my foot to start myself out,

you pull it back.

Just as I am about to play

you let go.

"Let go." You whisper.

I choke and gasp.

"No," I whisper.

My lungs hurt.

"No." You repeat after me.

My lungs hurt.
