I Think

I Think

A Poem by Ruminating Archaeologist
"

inspired in part by something I read, stuff I'm dealing with on my own, and the chaos of society today.

"
I think

that dreams are hard to catch
you make them up, stretch your hands high enough
but in a way they're like balloons
and you let them float away

laughter heals the wounds away
crying helps the pain fade
but you may not believe me

failure is something to learn from
no matter how many times it happens
no matter how many times you say
you cannot do this, you'll be okay
because everything will turn out in the end

it may take time, I'm sure
for this to come to pass,
for the ways you think now,
to change in times to come

what they say isn't always what they mean
but what's more important is to find things out for yourself
for you're your own person, no matter what they say
no matter what they tell you
no matter who you think you are
a failure, stupid, ashamed.
you're brave.
because you can try again.
you can move on.

whatever you turn out to be,
you are unique
but don't let what others say
get the best of dreams.
no one knows your own thoughts,
but at the end of the day,
your quietness can show the most strength.
because after all of this...
your alive today

Since 8th grade, I've been writing and I honestly can say I've improved. My deviant art account is normally where I'm stationed, and I use it frequently. I also have a fanfiction.net account, and I'm .. more..
