Just Let Me Out

Just Let Me Out

A Poem by Ruminating Archaeologist
"

"just let me free/just let me out"

"

yesterday’s pants

lay on the floor

with books, regret,

a little bit more

my stream of consciousness is thinking

I want a sandwich

my abs hurt

(is my heart aching?)

working around the crunches I do in daily life

working through the stress, the grief, the pain, the strife

finding less and losing more

painting over nicks on the wall

I built, building, am tearing down.
