Hello Sky

Hello Sky

A Poem by Ruminating Archaeologist
"

Something different from what I usually put out. Not sure if I like it that much. Reminds me of a poem I did last year, and my poetical style in 7th/8th grade.

"
hello sky
I am a stranger
to your horizon
I have seen you from a distance
but thoughts cloud my mind

I'm high up here
wind whispers in my ear
sun shining on my face

so far up
I think I can reach you
if I stretch my arms enough
like a lift-off of a space shuttle

as your eyes twinkle like stars
I lay down my own lids
and rest beneath you

oxygen is all that
separates us
from planet Mars

I'll count down the seconds until I rise
and lite the air with colors bright
fire in the east my eyes
will light up like the morning
I will keep the dark at bay
so goodbye night
and hello day

Since 8th grade, I've been writing and I honestly can say I've improved. My deviant art account is normally where I'm stationed, and I use it frequently. I also have a fanfiction.net account, and I'm .. more..
