Look Into the Eyes of a Homeless Man

Look Into the Eyes of a Homeless Man

A Poem by Scoopy Reviews
"

Every man has a story.

"

My eyes tell my story of grief my face shows my pains

I’m a father, a solider, a poet.

Don’t walk by pass and ignore me because of my image.

Every man has a story.

Outside of tattered clothing and my smell of days upon weeks without hygiene

I’m a person who has lived.

I’m a prom king, a painter, a brother.

My eyes tell my story but I ask that you don’t look into them because I am afraid.

I’m a student, a brother, an angel.

You maybe see a lost cause but I’m more than that.

I’m an example, a template, a standard.

Don’t walk pass and ignore me because of my image

Listen to the sorrow in my song. The world has passed me by.

Look at the tears in my eyes. The world has passed me by.

I am sinner, a prophet, a rebel.

I am man who is bondage with no regard for tomorrow.

Yesterday was a better time than today.

I am a salve, a mercenary, a missionary.

Hope has gone by the way side

Fate is inevitable and destiny is predetermined a greater power.

Don’t cover your children’s eyes and don’t look away

I am a teacher, therapist, and a role model.

Let them look and tell them…

Every man has a story and that outside of the tattered clothes and the smell,

He is a man that lived.

Learn from his story

Live.
