Apology Dismissed

Your features twist beyond recognizing in remorse
A single tear falls down your guilt ridden face
A choked apology wrenches from your throat – “I’m sorry”
I witness this unblinking – unmoved
I have lost my ability to love
No forgiveness lies within me
I make no reply - I just turn my head in dismissal
Your face drops to your hands
I walk away

I think when we've been hurt over, and over again by the same person it becomes easy just to not believe them anymore, and to shut them out emotionally. This is very well done, and fresh!

It's really good. I think it shows how sometimes (most of the time) I'm sorry just isn't enough. Two words can't remedy everything that's been done wrong. Great Job.

It amazes me how often people think the utterance of the words "I'm sorry" can correct any mistake they may have made. You did a great job of expressing how futile those words are in most instances. Very well done.

It's sad to think that a human heart could become so cold that it forgets how to love and forgive. I think you wrote and expressed this very well all the same. Peace & safety to you & yours!
