the view

the view

A Poem by bubblefet
"

lumberjack

"
The sun shined down to the tree tops
I tried to climb up but near the top got stuck
The view I saw was unmatched
Worthy of its freedom, but I forgot myself and slipped fast
Catching myself on the way down
A new look to the top but a sadness
The view I enjoyed and thought would last
Was terribly impossible now due to my crash
Branches cracked and twisted looking unsure
I stray back as close as I dare
Telling my heart to keep it in
But I will never feel that high again
I cant go back there but will be close enough
Stuck in the plain zone with dreams of the bluffs

Taken at face-value, a very fine piece; there may, however, be more than one metaphor being portrayed.
Fascinating read, b!
