So Long

So Long

A Poem by Brandy Alexander
"

Somewhere between regret and a delighful memory.

"

There was a promise that my lips didn’t say

But you touched me in such a way

That I knew

I had agreed to

Finger tips on neck bent and eyes closed tight

Summer winds blowing through the gypsy night

Your lips were there

I didn’t dare

Run away from where I knew this would lead

Should have fled from that soft place of sensuous greed

So long my friend

You’ll never be again.

This is profound in story and imagery, and fantastic in musicality. Well done!

Thank you, kindly.
Ahh, yes-- when friendship becomes uncomfertably more than friendship. You present that well here. I also like the atmosphere you create. Especially the "gypsy night" line.
