Tracer

Tracer

A Poem by Brandy Alexander
"

"Tomorrow never happens. It's all the same f*****g day, man" Janis Joplin

"

I suckled too long at the teat

Went devoid of meat

And don’t get me wrong

It’s not spiritual

Or cynical

It’s more like a moment

Existential

And I’m thinking

It’s just the beginning

Instantly I craved a way

Break free of haze

A clouded phase

Years single file in line

Wilting on the vine

Never turning to wine

I want to be an artist

Not a tracer

Another empty facer

I was born

A storm chaser

Never dismissing

The Glorious

Now

I’m thinking

This is the beginning

I was born a storm chaser

Not a tracer

Not another

Now

Will I forget to savor.

If I had a world of my own, everything would be nonsense. Nothing would be what it is, because everything would be what it isn't. And contrary wise, what is, it wouldn't be. And what it wouldn't be, i.. more..
