Drawn and Quartered

Drawn and Quartered

A Poem by Brandy Alexander
"

Accepting being pulled apart to let go and ascend beyond the expectations of our presumed roles.

"

Wrists and ankles bound

Spread wide

Eyes closed tight

Let’s have it

Loosen reigns and ride

I’m ready

Pull.

All directions begging breaking

My mind

My heart

My veracious harlotry

An obscured sense of dignity

I’m ready

Go.

Kicking up dirt

Giving in to giving in

Letting indecision win

The pain sighs relief

All these people I am supposed to be

Are finally free

Breathe.

If I had a world of my own, everything would be nonsense. Nothing would be what it is, because everything would be what it isn't. And contrary wise, what is, it wouldn't be. And what it wouldn't be, i.. more..
