Pyramid's Eye

Pyramid's Eye

A Poem by Brandy Alexander
"

Chipping away the illusion of reality.

"

Hey out there,

Somebody save me!

I’m going crazy

From the pills they gave me.

I seek the truth

But my eyes are hazy.

The mirror’s broken

And my angst betrays me.

Can’t stop burning

My blood’s enraged.

Reaching out to the illusion

But just can’t engage.

Like an old porno actress

Poised on stage.

A banned book on a pyre

With a flaming page.

The bars creek they speak

Say you’ll never die

One thousand as one

Can only rise.

See through the gates

They all denied.

We’ll storm through the doors

Of the pyramid’s eye.
