Coming Clean

Coming Clean

A Poem by Brandy Alexander
"

Mindfulness...

"

Speaking to myself honesty I’d say,

Maybe I failed you

There were words unsaid over again

Actions undone

I pinned you down

Maybe I was scattered

Run down by the chatter

Or the noisy media bombardment

Maybe I just wasn’t thinking right

Maybe I failed you

For not letting you make the call

Or jump from the plane

Or go commando

Maybe you just wanted to be free

But I had to remind you

Pull it back

Reel it in

You’re flag don’t fly that high

Maybe I didn’t know a thing

Maybe, I was wrong

I want to tell you that it’s too late now

But, I got the feeling

You should stop listening to me.

Thank you very much :)
' Maybe I failed you - For not letting you make the call - Or jump from the plane - Or go commando' Great stanza, made me giggle.

So like this two -way personal to self chat! Guess we all have a try at that sometimes and fail miserably to change course mid.way! You use words so well, really create what seems to be a logical conversation, an analysis of self with self unselfishly.!

Your words ripple along smoothly to that glorious finish... last line a winner!
