Chapter 3 "Purple

My name is Lotus, Lotus Chifera. Chifera sounds bad that’s why I usually introduce myself as Lotus Chi only. I recently started playing this game “Ancient Legends of the Plants”, it’s a very popular game these days and a lot from my class do play this game.

By the time I decided to start playing this game, there’s this classmate, Carnation, who suddenly came talking to me in Facebook. We chatted about games it seems like he is willing to teach me and train me in this game. Not that I asked but why not, this might be fun.

It’s been a few week since I began playing this game, I started to get the hang of it, Carnation told me that I learn very fast but I think he is just exaggerating. I also invited Lily to join in this game but it seems like she is still sticking to her rhythm games.

It seems that Carnation is an experienced player on this game and probably the best at it in our school. These days I can hear him talking about how fast I learn to his friends from my seat, to be honest I feel happy to hear his praise.

“You have been hanging out with Carnation in the internet these days huh” Lily said to me.

“Yup”

“Oh ho~ what do you think of him?” Lily said it in a rather teasing way.

“Hahaha don’t be silly there Lily, we’re just friends, and if it’s more it’s only Master-Disciple kind of relationship, nothing much” I said.

“I asked you what do you think of him not do you like him, what are you answering~ Ahahaha! ” She laughs while coming close to me.

“Whatever! Ish, I hate you!” I push her away from me.

“I love you too~ Ahahaha! You’re blushing so much!”

 “Shut up, I’m going to sleep now” I cover my face down to the table.

“Aww, hey look, look, didn’t you notice Carnation has been staring at you lately~ I think he likes you~”

“It’s just your imagination” I continue lying on the table.

There’s no way that Carnation would ever look at me that way, I mean like I’m just a normal girl who rarely even socialize with the people in class right? Ya there’s no way. Even so, I have no interest on being lovey dovey with a boy.

“Hey Lotus”

I look up and see Carnation standing beside my table.

“Oh hey” I swipe my hand across my hair to fix my hair.

“Sorry to bother….umm, remember the time when I said I want to teach you about all the characters in ALP? Want to get down to it now?” He said it while holding up a note with all the character names on it.

“Ummm Ya sure, that’ll be great” I replied while smiling.

He sat down beside me while explaining it through one by one. He looks so serious while talking like that, although he still tries to add in some jokes that are somewhat lame, I think it’s quite cute.

“So as I was saying….”  The school bell rang and it’s time go home. “Guess we’ll continue next time…” He looks kind of disappointed.

“Ya, let’s continue it next time Carnation” I smiled and replied.

He then smiled back and wave while running back to his friends. Lily walk to me with a weird smile but it seems there is no problem at all.

On the way home*

“Hello young lady” A stranger suddenly walked beside me.

“Uhm, Hi?” What could this guy want?

“I saw your cover picture on your file; you play the game Ancient Legends of the Plants?” he said while pointing at my file. Yes I put my favorite character of the game in my file, never thought it would draw attention.

“Ya, I recently started playing, this character is my favorite” I replied.

“What a coincidence! I recently started playing too!” He said excitedly. “Hey, can we exchange number or something and maybe hang out sometimes?”

I paused for a second. What? I just met you for a few second and you want my phone number already? Hang Out? What do you mean hang out? I don’t even know your name yet!

“Oh my bad, I haven’t really introduce myself yet did I. My name is Jaz Steve。。。” He said while scratching his head. “I came with my car there and was just roaming down the mall while I saw you with that picture, so I thought maybe I could make some new friends or something.”

I thought for a while and thought, since there is no harm…..Why not then, although it’s weird but its ok as long as we’re just making new friends right? So I gave him my number along with my In-Game Name.

In the meantime, Carnation was walking down the street looking at a carnation flower, in the color purple, symbolizing Capriciousness.
