World Without Color

World Without Color

A Poem by Bryce Simonds

There is a place
Where the ocean has lost its blue
Where grass has lost its green
It is hidden among our world
Within a sliver of the darkest dew

Travel through the lush green forest
Maybe you will find that sliver of dark dew
Over the hills, beyond the mountains
Then again, maybe it will only be a clue

This is all worth it to you?
How long do you plan on searching high and low?
Your chances of finding this world without color are slim
But yet you still left him as he begged you not to go

How cruel was it of you
To leave him without saying good-bye
It would have meant the world to him
Why didn’t you tell him you were leaving?
Why did you make him cry?

Leave to that place wherever that may be
Where the ocean has lost its blue
Where the grass has lost its green
Just know that through it all
His love is still true
