Unsaid

Unsaid

A Poem by Bryan Wang

I found a silver lining

In the promising uncertainty

I heard the unspoken words

Of the future’s guardian

I found no formula

To living the life you want to live

You can only mess up

And keep messing up the lines

To a script that ain’t even written

You’re strong enough to handle the ropes

Didn’t even know you were minutes away

From your last breath

You hadn’t even taken your first

Random alignments of stars I don’t see

Though I look up to the sky every night

To try and figure out the pattern

That seems to exclude everybody else

Is hope something you never run out of

Is that what keeps us going through waves

Of rights and wrongs, lights and songs

Here we go again, time to spin the wheel

I watched the rise and fall

Of the naïve boy with everything to gain

But suddenly everything was lost underwater

And he was scared of the deep end

Ever been scared of climbing too high

And when you look down at what’s below

There may be too much to lose

Has the loop found its home

This never made sense

But I was always ready

For what was ahead

We can leave that unsaid
