This One Second GlanceA Poem by Bryan WangBy accident I saw you through the window Drinking your coffee and reading your book You looked up when I looked up We’re both searching for the meaning of life I happened to be strumming my guitar And wondered what you’d like to hear Perhaps the silence was enough for you The void filled with possibility Have you been lost at sea Did you lose sight of who you were Have you been lost at sea Let’s magnetize this pretend attraction It may or may not be real And life may as well be one big lie That we’re just trying to deny My favorite first impression I see you but hear nothing And can only imagine that these Lines were parallel from the start I’ll be going home tomorrow And we may have to write the last sentence A sequel is up in the air We’ll wait for the publication We found what’s in common Without saying a single word By the look in your eyes Windows could be related Don’t have an address But we already have this addressed Can you feel the centripetal pull Gravity’s glad to do extra work Well this one second glance Sure seemed like an eternity I’m amazed at what I’ve learned Impossible is spurned For now this makes no sense But it makes too much sense Turn the page of your book And let’s connect the story © 2015 Bryan Wang |
