A paper heart lies inside me

Shaped into perfect love

Love for you

 

While I was asleep

One night in spring

You took my heart

From my quiet soul

 

You held my heart

Beside your chest

Beside your kind breast

Near your shy heartbeat

 

You shaped my heart

Into your taste

Into your favor

Into the perfect love

 

You returned my heart

And I felt the love

Flowing like a great stream

Running like a mighty river

 

I woke up 

The sun kissed my face

I was filled with the light

A new hope to hold on to
