LibertyA Poem by B.E. GonzalesThis poem is narrated by Liberty, who is the inspiration of heroes, the song of the imprisoned and the cry of the people. My arms stretch out and open up to the poor The weary, the oppressed and those who yearn to be free To them, I open the door Of the Promised Land where they will find me I raise my head and look up to the sky She glorifies equality and righteousness I push my feet to the ground, where I hear blood cry The blood of the people, where in the battlefields, found happiness
To those who flee their lands where wickedness is exalted Where oppression is glorified and evil reigns I will be their shelter and they will be provided I will relieve them from all their pains My name is I dwell in the songs of people wrongly tried And the people who, in the hands of tyrants, have suffered greatly I will reach to them and be their guide © 2010 B.E.
