The Human Psyche

The Human Psyche

A Poem by Phil Sanders
"

The human mind is a fascinating emotive power source ...

"

The depth of the human psyche .. is a wonder to behold..

Creativity .. sensitivity… proclivity to excess…
A complex set of machinations every day …
Should I? ..Shouldn’t I?.. Will I? .. Won’t she ?
A myriad of roads open up to follow .. choices always required …
In settled times .. such easy choices …
But ..when the winds of change blow cold ….
Chaos .. turmoil… angst ….. love .. hate …
All mixed in a pot of emotions ….
Awaiting the decision .. that powerhouse of life..
Causing laughter .. tears .. frustration .. exhilaration..
Who knows where the future will lead us …
What significance the decisions will have..
Across the ocean of hope…
Avoiding the rocks of despair …
Reaching the sea of tranquillity ….
All of us sailing our ships of life …
To where? .. no one knows ….

Ocean, rocks, sea, sailing.........hopefully to a sandy beach with a loved one stroking one's thought tossed brow! Enjoyed this dynamic fusion of emotions with the the decision factory of the mind. Balance of the two the right way right? Enjoyed this.

this was great and I can at times relate to the line "But ..when the winds of change blow cold ….
Chaos .. turmoil… angst ….. love .. hate …
All mixed in a pot of emotions …." Sometimes this is how I feel on a daily basis, and don't know which way to go or whether to move forward, never to look back.

I like the idea of sailing our ships of life, to where no one knows
Sounds like an adventure I would take, no matter where it sends me
Great write here Phil

This reminds me of a poem that I wrote called Tangled Emotions it mentions ships and sailing. Intresting that you mention what significance the decisions we make. The writer in us all unlocks emotions in others. Sometimes our words can turn keys in doors for people. Our words acan encourage uplift honour but also our words can cause people to act speak out and raise thier vioce. We do not always know the affect that our words may have sometimes it is not for us to know. But if we are true to our calling and we post our peices for others to read then I believe we have done all we can

This is a clever piece leaving readers thinking. Ha! I guess thats whats intended for us as we all have that human psyche. Those questions you ask 'Should I? ..Shouldn't I?.. Will I? .. Won't she ?' have been repeated so many times and will continue to be throughout existence and there is no defintive answer. The final line says everything.....

This piece captures the human psyche perfectly, so many questions, such a jumble of words and emotions. Excellently done honey. Mx

ahhh, such a new direction that your writing has undertaken and, with such an even flow, it so seems like a natural progression! I love it! You have done it again, Rico Suave, created a stunning visualization that will linger in my mind for hours to come....thank you.

Oh, the many countless poems of love, and somehow the beauty and mystery of the sea is always there. Beautiful. Rain..
