Contented Love

Contented Love

A Poem by Phil Sanders
"

Even the miles apart cannot still my beating heart....

"
Your voice such beauty flowing
In my ears from far away
I’m counting down the seconds
Till your returning day
I’m in a small cocoon
With our memories inside
It helps to keep me settled
Across the oceans wide
The calmness of our love
Is a comfort in my heart
For I miss you so deeply
Whilst we are apart
I ache to hold you close
And kiss those lips so sweet
And lie there naked with you
As we talk and love .. a treat
For when you come back home
Our lives begin afresh
No more will either one of us
Be any more enmeshed
Like birds upon the wing
We’ll fly together free
As lovers … one together
For everyone to see
To walk the sandy shores
And climb the mountains high
Within each other’s arms
With such a gentle sigh
For you are now my future
My love to now behold
A love that will sustain us
As we gradually get old
A love that burns with passion
A love contented too
That’s why my darling lady
I’ll always be with you

I can see how your feelings and emotions practically flowing from this peice. I can almost visualise the feelings you have described in a sweet, dewey sort of way.

I’m in a small cocoon

It helps to keep me settled

I absolutely loved these lines. My favorate in this poem.

I ache to hold you close
And kiss those lips so sweet
And lie there naked with you

These lines may have been vulgar if placed in any situation, but suprisingly in this poem, it is not. It creates an effect of sincerety and lovingness. Thats very surprising and very cool too.

Keep writing peices like this. Great work altogether. ~KA~

Beautiful, I can't help but cry salty tears when I read your poems they are so passionate, romantic, tender, loving declarations of your love........in a way they make me sad in my loniness and at the same time they offer hope that one day I will have love with someone such as this....:)

Phil, this is beautiful - I love being the age that I am, because I do think that mature love is the most satisfying! And this poem agrees to that, even if you are separated from your woman at times. As I read your romantic poems, I hope that at some point, you two will be able to be together soon (at least within driving distance LOL) My favorite lines: I'm in a small cocoonWith our memories insideIt helps to keep me settledAcross the oceans wide - beautiful!!!
