Six Words Only (Selection)

A Poem by Phil Sanders
"

Inspired by Hemingway ...........

"

The poems are limited to just 6 words.
They were inspired by Hemingway’s “For sale. Baby shoes. Never worn.”

PASSION

Eyes flash......

............ mind dash

....................... heart splash...........

SENSUAL THOUGHTS

Sensual thoughts .... flowing course .....life's force .....

MIND’S EYE

Mind's eye..... flying high...... wondering why .....

CALL CENTRES ………….

Patiently waiting.......

                   Patently waiting ............

          POTENTLY waiting ..........

REVERSE LOVE

Eyes in love .... love in eyes ......

PEACE

Tranquility ... stability......equanimity ....serenity .....placidity ....PEACE

WAR

Bullets fly ... men die ... mothers cry ....

INSANITY

My insanity ..... it keeps me sane..............

MOTHER

Mother smiles, memory files, distant miles

Shoreline Walk

Waves lap the shore ….ocean’s roar
10/2/08

The Kiss

Softness of your lips …. tender kiss
10/2/08

Beautiful Eyes

Beauty of your eyes …. sensual surprise
10/2/08

Love

Flirtation …. Inclination … Expectation ... Anticipation .... Sensation…… Love ……
10/2/08

Sunday Afternoon

Sunny walk … lovely talk …Sunday afternoon
10/2/08

Loving Touch

Gentle palms….. warming arms …. tender charms
10/2/08

This is an amazing collage of word pictures so beautifully evocative. The impact arises from the apparent abruptness of the words and the piercing clarity. No wonder it is so beautiful since it aws inspired by soomething so stunning "For sale. Baby shoes. Never worn."
