Phil, you capture the essence of what you see so splendidly. To some, old walls are nithing more than crumbling stone or bricks, but to others like you and I they make us wonder and ask questions about their past. Thank you for sharing your introspection.
I love the imagery in this piece
the meaning of it and how it was written
you are an old soul
and i love that about you and your writing
nice work
thank you for entering my contest
well now im starting from the first to the most recent, like i said before i like your work and i shall review as much as i can,
first off history is great to know, his or her story.lol
great stuff, phil
The pains and the joys attached to history, buried deep within the old stone walls have come alive with your words.
Lovely write.
The profoundity of the lines is magnificent.
Phil, "History" is splendid. Your insight and empathy for all that is old is amazing. The imagery is spot on - I can see and hear the children paying in those now dusty deserted rooms.
The only suggestion I make is that you may consider separating
So will the generations
That follow us as well
Still listen for that history
And all the tales it tells
from the rest - it seems to be a stand alone question and makes the reader reconsider the past from the present and future perspective.
if the walls could talk, it seems that taking from the wording
would take from the passion, intent, thought foucus, ambience,
i really enjoyed the classic, subtle tone which flows from a
creative, poetical aspect, and is delivered with touching effect,
phil, i like the way you scuulpted the words to fit the intended
feeling, as well as the endearing meaning, nice job, take care, mike
History seeps through the walls ....what a beautiful expression.I felt as though I was walking along with you feeling the resonance of the voices from the past.
Ohh, I really like this! I always get the same feelings while out walking down the ancient streets of my neighborhood, wondering who was first, what their life was like ... I love this! Great, superb imagery!
I am a part time photographer and poet when I am not earning my normal crust. I live in Kent in the UK in a little village called Upnor which is right on the River Medway.
