An Eternity

An Eternity

A Poem by Arthur N Known

How long is eternity?

Count the seconds: one, two, three.

Maybe go up to four,

But to go higher?  We need not more.

The lense is too dull;

Waves of passion have too strong a pull.

Some control the helm,

While others soon learn how to swim.

Liberty: a state of mind,

Free from bondage and all it's kind.

"Rescue me from myself."

Is the fools cry before his death.

Repeat the cycle of pain.

Knowledge was too elusive to gain.

Pass by one, two, three.

Waste away all of eternity.
