overdose

overdose

A Poem by cristy
"

i had a friend who died and overdosed on oxycone

"

Dark circles have formed

You can't move a bone

Stuttering becomes a habit

You look like you're stoned

I ask you was wrong

You can't answer me

Your head is down

You can't make a sound

Your body keeps twitching

And I keep thinking

Should I tell?

I know something's wrong

I know you're not right

Because when I ask you again

Your eyes roll to the back of your head

You're no longer that cool and funny kid I know

I'm scared for you

And there's nothing I can do

Because now you're gone

Because you over dosed on oxycone.

I've been here before. Nothing quite as extreme as someone overdosing, but the part "You're no longer that cool and funny kid I know", I've been there.

High School. Seeing friends stoned out of their mind, that's a mind shocker right there.

This is nicely written and it gets your point across. Good use of imagery.

Wow. I have had firends who have passed from drugs and it hirts worse when you knew what they were doing and did not say anything. I had to live it down but their family seemed to have no clue and I could not understand it. Its hard to cope with a death of anyone but a friends death hurts just as much as family.

Good piece.
