Curtains over

Curtains over

A Poem by BrownJanelle

with kind eyes looking back at me, the curtains draw and the feeling of love is overwhelming.

only to wake up and find my self alone.

I would repeat what was once told me.

"wake up so I can tell you how much I love you"

I want to take your hand, to feel what felt so real.

I want to kiss your forehead as did in my dream.

to feel that urgency like it was life or death to come.

and as death did come, our love ran on

into the sunset that was split by the rain

how tragic our death

but how beautiful our story

to be left and torn by glory

waves drew into our secret place

and curtains close the lovers death

The darkening sky swept over

the stars would be our choir

swept beneath the oceans tide

we keep our secrets

and death we hide
