My Sparkle

My Sparkle

A Poem by Susan 🦋
"

Sonnet

"

Quite suddenly, a twink'ling light appears;

perhaps, 'twas destined or mere happenstance.

Amazed, warmth's radiant glow slowly nears …

life's providence re-shapes my circumstance.

Embraced, love cradles this bedeviled soul

in blissful credence; peacefully, I rest.

Illuminating broken pieces whole,

upon a wonderlust, star-laden, quest.

What karma gifted now reflects within;

laced silhouette, with silken threads of gold.

Surrounding whosoever looks therein …

surreal, inspiring beauty ~ brave and bold.

Stars falling, fade upon first breath of day,

through grateful hands, my sparkle ~ slips away.

awwwwww! very very enchanting sonnet, Susan! V2 L2 ..I just sit here letting that seep in a while .. I don't think you could find a better pic to go with the poem .. it's a bit hypnotizing itself .. you have captured a moment of profound beauty and wisdom says i .. it takes some living to stay at rest when our scattered pieces are revealed to us .. to note them and let them go .. brings wholeness ... the touch of sadness as such a contemplative moment fades ... yet the light of the new day outshines it all ... i really like this poem .. thoroughly enjoyed the experience .. as always, Susan, thanks for sharing!

This is as brilliant as those stars, Susan! You are such a craftsperson, following the required rules yet able to instil emotion and beauty into each and every line.

Elegant, colourful academic style yet somehow sounds natural, flowing.

A talented write. Well done. Sonnets are difficult to master. Seems you have got a great grasp of them. Love your posted image to accompany your lines which were full of lovely imagery, as well as touching on the emotions. Good job done Susan.

My pleasure :)
It's quite an achievement to write a sonnet; satisfying all the requirements of the form is tricky - plus, of course, it has to make sense, too. So, congrats on that alone. I also liked the quiet, melancholy mood.
