This made me reminisce about butterflies. I don't see that many anymore. It's not the butterflies fault it starts as a hungry caterpillar. I like how you use time to make a turn in the Volta. Turn to the past. Then in the couplet our memories get a kiss. Nice!

Such a beautiful old world feel to this poem about one of nature's most magical creatures. I feel very fortunate to have many butterflies visit where I live throughout the year and your poem today reminds me of those peaceful days when one will flutter by and maybe stop for a few minutes and visit. What a lovely review to start my day :) I have a very whimsical garden (mostly perennials and fruit tress) I enjoy being creative. My daughter say's it's like Disney scene :) If you sit quietly, just about every little critter will greet you. "Chip" being the most daring little chipmunk. He practically knocks at the back door for his morning walnut. I've given my wild strawberries to the bunny's and it's always a race to pick the sour cherries before the birds do! But, the butterflies are such magical little winged creatures. (As are the hummingbirds) I simply love watching them. Thank you for taking the time to read and review! Very much appreciated.

I also garden quite a bit and have hummingbirds who return every spring to visit and it is magical when they do. I don't have chipmunks or rabbits but I do have a family of racoons who stop by each evening to say hi and armadillos who are very destructive to gardens. Oh and more butterflies than I can couht. : )
Oh, how perfect it is to think of butterflies and their sweet kisses... Awhile back I wrote a poem...Butterfly Kisses...
There is something so special about their gilded wings.
Another amazing poem to read of yours!!
Thank you!!

I too always appreciate a review from you dear Susan..
Thank you,

Reading this I found myself caught up memories past. Were they not the best of times?
I tried kissing a butterfly once. I accidentally inhaled too heavily and swallowed the poor thing whole.
Have a wonderful day...and don't try kissing any butterflies.

I missed this review!!! I am so sorry! Swallowed whole? YUCK!!!! lol Thanks for reading :-)
You've gifted our hearts and senses such a bountifully beautiful Sonnet to touch and caress our youthfully memorable depths with sweet recall.
Ah, for those innocent days, when a butterfly or lightning bug could hold us mesmerized in joyful play for hours … exquisitely rendered.
Thank you, Fine Poetess! ⁓ Richard 🍃
