Beside You ...

Beside You ...

A Poem by Susan 🦋
"

Sonnet

"

A distant heart-song gently shimmies near,
whilst shadows dance along a restless hush,
held captivated by your touch sincere ...
'til softly radiates a rosy blush.

Beside you, journeyed countless midnight dreams,
soared spangled heavens ~ swam vast oceans deep;
for, poets 'oft imagine … so, it seems,
cascading fantasies, as lovers sleep.

Come take my hand along a stargazed trail,
where all we yearn is flying wild 'n free.
'Pon bated breath emotions dare exhale
familiar ~ yet, it seems a memory.

A constant comfort, soothing warmth through time
… with every tender notion weaved in rhyme.

My pleasure!
Mirror Image of You

In close proximity a heart is torn anew
Held tightly in a wrecked body of raptured chronic pain
Never seen, much less touched, I am unknown in plain view . . .
Proclaim you are kind, you never knew of this bane

Midnight passes you by in your pleasant dreams
Always awake with slumber only a dream for one in constant pain
Insomnia brings tears for alone I see my failures

If ever I saw an olive branch
My mind is so twisted and heart beyond repair
Apparent, per my solitude, the branch would continue to survive in the light . . .
While my darkness knows no path to sovereign peace

I see your out stretched hand
Virtual inquiry is the extent to it's extension
You truly will be of the masses and slam the door on my pathetic existence. . .
Should you even truly take a minute to know a small fraction of my devastation.

Fear is my locket of confinement bout my neck
Continuous tsunami of loath are the tides I ride
Tenderness is an abstract laugh I use at attempt to fake comfort . . .
No one welcomes a storm much less willing to live in an eternal one.

Thank you so much for yet another review!!! So appreciated!
This is beautifully poetic! I like the flow of this, the words have so many highs and lows making it read like a song.

"Come take my hand along a stargazed trail,
where all we yearn is flying wild 'n free." fave line. tyfs
