Foretimes Regret

Foretimes Regret

A Poem by Susan 🦋

Please, take me back
'fore life's impact
upon my fork-ed road.
Frivolous stride
chose the wrong side ...
ensuring heartaches stowed.

Hard lessons learned
of hardships earned;
mistakes made years ago.
Dreaming of ways
those yesterdays
will defeat years of woe.

Find new love there
with promised care ...
change hist'ry's course with you.
Ceased endless pains,

severed tight chains,
bright future's set brand new.

Imagine this,
the utter bliss ...
two lovers meant to be.
Bound souls caressed,
ending long quests
in peaceful guarantee.

Yet, dual tears shed,
sorrow and dread;
fate has chosen ... it seems.
Drawn to return
I'll always yearn;
you'll e'er live in my dreams.

Hi Susan,
Love this one... and I love the structure...and, your beautiful images.
You mentioned the other site where your poems are...
Once my broken clavicle is repaired I plan on joining it.
I do have one quick question.
Can one add an image like we do here?
Thank you for your help,
Lisa

Thank you Ryanna for stopping by and giving this a look. It is a bit heart- tugging...
Sometimes the simplest mistakes have the most impact.
A very nice poem telling of love, loss, heartache and the never ending hold of yesterday.

Omgoodness! I missed this review! I do aplogize. Thank you for stopping by and reading.
I struggle with Anxiety and depression. It sucks sometimes but the cure that I've found is to write! It's the most joyful thing that I do. Just write! It will take away those pains and hardships. I would also like to say that you have real potential in your writing and I am Genuinely surprised how amazing your writing style is! It was fantastic and I just wanted to let you know that you could even one day be a published author/writer if you wanted to! Keep smiling, keep writing, and most importantly. be you! You have a talent and this is a talent that all people should see and read!
I have a story here about my best friend, you don't have to read it if you don't want to, but I felt like I should share it with you. :)

You are most welcome! thank you!
Excellent, Susan!
From the amazingly apt picture choices, to each of your syntacticly-enthralling lines of sheer bliss and emotion, you've taken your stardust-imbued ink and rendered the parchment it's emblazoned on to soar throughout our hearts, feelings, and fantasies.
As the wise and knowing Alfred Lord Tennyson once assured, “'Tis better to have loved and lost, than never to have loved at all” And, you've said it far more beautifully, with your well-chose font and poetically endearing presentation.

Again, you've made me swell with pride to be your teacher, touching me to the core with the wonderment of your creative loveliness and finely learned skill … hugs 'n blessings! ⁓ Richard : )

Techy stuff: I adore the soft rhyme of L1 & 2 … beautiful choice, Susan, and the deft poetic license of "fork-ed" in L2. Five syllables in "Yet, dual tears shed," … consider "Yet, twice tears shed,".
What a gorgeously tender, romantically blissful; yet, poignant rendition of my original form, the "Fours 'n Sixes", Dear Susan … sighhh* You so deeply and graciously honor me.
