Midnight escape

Midnight escape

A Poem by Susan 🦋
"

dream land...

"
When our dreams are hanging on a star
midnight adventures, they're never far,
Come step outside of reality
travel this midnight, escape with me!

Sail the seas through a billowy mist
and be lured to lands, you can't resist.
See Irish eyes that radiate smiles
a maritime thread throughout the Isles.

There are shooting stars to light your way
everlasting love will surely stay.
While our hands embrace on mountain peaksl
icy crystals melt upon our cheeks!

We gently sway to this midnight dance
erase from mind, our circumstance.
On this myst'ry ride, our worlds collide
and welcome relief's found by your side.

Our eyes enchanted by all we see
dispell the shadows and we are free.
But our midnight dreams they cannot end
When hearts are held in each other's hand.

Stepping back through reality's door
divine intervention, we wish for.
Again to hang dreams upon a star
more midnight adventures, never far!

Cool to see where it started. I see your ability to write in meter has improved from here to there, where, I was before. Your style is evident all the way back here too. Back in this time zone. Or so this time traveler knows.

I am hung up on the one word. 'Relief's'. Wondering what it possesses?

beautiful ..not much experienced with forms but this has natural rhythms in the iambs and language that is used in everyday speech .. so easy to betray syntax for rhyme or save syntax and stretch and cliche' rhymes ... i especially am drawn by the invitation to join and experience first had the dream .. such a sweet place for lovers and romance .. seems the lovers awaken with a prayer for the dreams of the day .. i think that's fantastic ... no better way to begin says i! thanks for sharing, Susan!

A lovely piece. Personally I avoid rhyming poetry because I cannot trust myself to force rhyme and thus detract from meaning and emotion and flow. Tis a skill for sure. Nice piece Susan.

I like how you interwove the dream imagery with the romance imagery-- yes, dreams can come true when you are spending time with that special person 👍 I also enjoyed the lyrical quality with the couplets 👍

Too sweet! thank you for reading and the review! Much appreciated
Hi, Susan! : )
Your personal touches of "your", "our", "we", "each other's", etc; and what a sweet invitation to "Come … escape with me!" through all the enchanting metaphors, nuances, and moments you've painted into the warmest desires and dreams a mind can hold and effulgently enjoy, are virtually irresistible to the senses of any warm-blooded romantic (like me, for instance). ; )
Truthfully, this is so well stroked and caressed with imagery and delightful emotional captivation, I felt my imagination joining you in this sensationally suggestive rendering of sheer wonder and beauty … your pen speaks of much to be gleaned from a heart, mind, and spirit that knows what poetic-voice means to those of us whom can interpret and enjoy the crux of your enthrallment.
Grammatically adept, the embrace of your skills are amazingly stirring to receive!

I love it, Susan … big hug of thanks to you for such lovely pleasures shared! ⁓ Richard ;; )

I have a number of English Sonnets on here, if you'd like some examples to study-up on.
'While our hands embrace on mountain peaks -- -- cy crystals melt upon our cheeks! '

People say that waking each morning is the most wonderful gift, and, for sure, that couldn't be truer

However, night is a gift each of us deserve. an open door into where, perhaps, we long to be.. and
your beautiful poem says just that. Tis beautiful and, written so finely, each stanza having a.. character of its own.

This is such a pleasure to read just before sleeping. Thank you.
