Speak

Speak

A Poem by Brenden Brown
"

Just some thoughts I've been having made into a poem.

"
You're standing right there,
Our love still remains,
But we cannot speak.
The force that split us
Is nowhere near here,
Yet we do not speak.
If they were to know
Who knows what they'd do,
So we must not speak.
Things could be different,
We could just be friends,
Then we'd get to speak.
You may not be mine,
But I'll remain yours,
As long as we can
Speak

A rather mysterious offering here. Two lovers have been "split" by others who are no longer around. Why, then cannot the lovers reunite? We are not told, but are advised they can continue to talk, which is apparently enough for the speaker. Liked the brevity and clarity of expression. Hope you two can get together somehow.

I like it and i want to slap both of you so im guessing thats a good thing cause it gave me that emotional response. i think i want to slap you more than her. This of course is because i have done this to myself before as well and i do slap myself for it regularly in the form of literal flagellation but i digress. I hope you write your way back into her heart with that talent you have good sir

Sadly happens to so many couples they drift apart as they just can't communicate no more. No matter how hard one might try. The other just does not respond. Heartfelt and true. Great poem.

Thanks Dawn :)
You are right. When we lose the ability to communicate. A dead-end. Powerful use of words and thoughts. Thank you Brenden for sharing the amazing poetry.
