Race with time

Race with time

A Poem by Brooklyn

Time can’t keep up

It can’t match my pace

It’s so far behind

And for it I have to wait

I begin to pant

My legs begin to slow

Time begins to gain on me

And I don’t even know

I’m panting

Can’t catch my breath

But time is steady

And goes on ahead

Time doesn’t wait

For me like I did for it

It keeps on running

I’ll never catch up to it

I call for it to wait

But it ignores my pleads

It won’t slow down

Time is in the lead

I hurry on

But it rounded the corner

And from my sight

It’s gone

Where has the time gone?

I may never know

I wonder now

How I could ever think it slow

Challenge time to a race

And you’ll lose

And if you think other wise

The joke is on you

Nicely done, i liked the short lines and simple rhythm as it made the meaning come out easily and be more understandable. The meaning itself was great as it is always pleasant to write about something that we all live with, are aware of its existance, but never really put too much thought into it. Good lesson, and nice write Brooklyn
