Storm

Storm

A Poem by Brooklyn

The lightening streaks through the sky

A whip cracking against the darkness

The thunder roars:

A starved lion caged

The trees sway

As though they wish to run

But cannot brake the earth’s grip

Mother Earth cries

And raindrops plummet to the ground

Pitter-patter-pitter-patter

The wind howls

Like a wolf at the moon

The sky a grey blanket

As if the Earth was cold

When the storm is over

Children will jump in the puddles

That it left in its wake

To remind us of it

But the aftermath will disappear

And everything will return to place

And even our memory of it will fade

This is a really good one Brooklyn. You give such realistic details that I can picture everything you're saying. Nice writing.
