In the Dark

In the Dark

A Poem by Brooklyn

Suns set

Days break

So do our fragile hearts

At what we face

Misery consumes us

And we cry

Flowers bloom

But they welter and die

Sometimes it’s hard

To even care

When all around us

Is despair

Our perfect world

Falls apart

Until we all are left alone

In the dark

Sometimes its hard

To understand

How beauty and pain

Go hand in hand
