Short poems are not usually that good.. But this one is great! The way I see it, the length symbolizes how quickly your year of being 14 passes. These few lines capture many 14-year-olds' lives quite well..

Being young can be a challenge. Developing mental powers cause fantastic new ideas. What appears to be restraining bars are in reality a protective screen. Your parents want you to grow and develope, hopefully without the pain of bad experiences. At each step in your age you'll feel the same way. Keep on writing poetry; that won't hurt you.

Mixed feelings from mixed perspectives. To be honest, I know this has a lot of meaning but it seems a little low for you and can be giving either a wrong impression or bad one. Some of those words have multiple meanings and it has interesting context.
